Team St Helena this week had the opportunity to meet South African Cricket Legend, Gary Kirsten.
Initially it had been planned to get Gary to St Helena, prior to the team leaving the Island, and during his time there he would have met the team, presented them with their playing kit and undertaken a few formal cricketing activities.. unfortunately shipping delays meant that the timing could not sync with his visit and the arrival of the kit, so his visit was cancelled.
Now at the end of the tour, coach Nadeem who works at the Gary Kirsten Cricket Academy was able to finally arrange the meeting with Gary.
Gary was very interested in the tournament and then opened to questions from the team.
To end the brief meeting, Gary was presented a commemorative cricket bat and took part in a photo shoot with the players.
