Team St Helena arrived just after lunch yesterday in Abuja Nigeria.
All 16 of the group were in good spirits arriving in the capital city and were treated to a traditional Nigerian welcome laid on by Nigeria Cricket.
The journey had started 27 hours previously in St Helena, as the team left family and friends behind to represent the Island on the international stage.
First stop was Johannesburg, which courtesy of all involved arrived and hour early which bode well for the teams connecting flight To Addis Ababa which was just two hours later.
A longer stop over in Addis, meant the team just sitting around for fours hours before boarding which was to be the most comfortable flight of the journey.
Five hours later and a touchdown in Abuja where we were given a traditional welcome by dancing girls to African music.
The first evening was spent relaxing, a dinner in the hotel and a well deserved early night.
Climate adjustment is the focus for today where temperatures are expected to rise to 36 degrees. The team will have a late breakfast, followed by a shopping excursion to collect sundries (I think Sunscreen will be included) and then a later training session.
