With training underway and professional help imminent, the St Helena Cricket Association is making plans for their Botswana team selection to take place at the end of this month. This week’s Beep Test, the second since the start of the training, saw the majority of the players making vast improvements on their fitness levels.
Fitness Instructor Martin Henry has said that the progress made is very encouraging and whilst there is a high level of skill that players need to improve fitness levels also. Bradley Petersen the team Physio is also pleased with the progress noting that there were some injuries during the earlier days of the fitness regime, but recently players have been coping well.
With Mo Mather the team coach arriving on Island on the 23rd of June, the team selection is planned for that week. A team captain being selected first who will also be a part of the selection Panel. The Panel will comprise of six members consisting the Chairman of Selectors, 3 coaches (including the senior coach) the team captain and the physio.
