Cricket training St Helena

Plans are very much underway for Team St Helena’s participation in an international cricket competition in Gaborone Botswana later this year. A fundraising group has been established, which will focus on fundraising activities over the next few months, as although The ICC, to whom the St Helena Cricket Association is affiliated, sponsors the expenses of the team, the Association needs to find funding for kits, equipment and additional squad players. The group will be looking for sponsorship for various requirements of the fundraising whilst also looking where they can raise funds through activities where everyone can take part. This page will play an immense role in your fundraising strategy. Plans are in hand for Mo Mather to arrive on the Island later this month and he will undertake the professional training. On top of his formal education and training as a sports and education coach, Mo is a level 3 cricket coach and coach educator through the ICC. He has visited St Helena several times in the past and on his next visit will also play a part in the team selection process. Training is well underway and marked improvements and performances can be seen from the potential team who have been working with fitness coach Martin Henry, Physio Bradley Peterson and Skills trainers Nicky Stevens and Dax Richards.

Team selection will take place at the end of this month.
