From Kuils River in Capetown, Denzel Pedro Smit will join Team St Helena on their arrival in Johannesburg and travel to Rwanda and back as they compete in Group A of the Sub Regional Qualifiers next month.
As an internationally certified coach, teacher and speaker, with a strong focus on leadership and personal development Denzel will work alongside of the team to help equip them for their competitive journey as a mental fitness coach, something which he has been doing since 2011.
Denzel is no stranger to Team St Helena, as he worked with them in 2018 on their trip to Botswana. Introduced to the “Saints” by Bradley Petersen (physio) who had worked together in Capetown some years back.
Upon hearing that St Helena would be participating in Rwanda in November Denzel was ready when invited to be a part of the team and has taken upon himself to fund his travels to Rwanda and back at no cost to Cricket St Helena.
“I am absolutely honoured to be invited to be a part of the St Helena National Team” said Denzel about his upcoming trip “I am so looking forward to meeting up with the boys again and let’s hope we can take St Helena Cricket to another level!
